Ever offer an answer at Apple's forums?
« on: March 20, 2012, 07:31:39 PM »
The old (a couple of years ago) Community was often a helpful, if not very speedy way to get answers to hardware and even Apple software problems. They changed the format making it, in my humble opinion, almost impossible to follow anything more than specific threads. Still, if one could find the proper 'community' (and remember its name/location) it was still a useful (and still often slow) solution. Now, with a fairly large database of questions/answers Apple has decided to make many of the solutions easier for buyers to find and use.

On a page with any particular model, there is a new link and section offering "Answers from the community." The images below show what the areas look like. The first image is the link that takes one to the area shown in the second image. That area is basically one collection of links to several different ways to find solutions, including the standard "type-a-question" input box.

I sincerely hope buyers will find answers with this new 'service.' I just hope the difficulty of using the current version of the Community Support section doesn't turn prospective buyers into "Why-is-Apple-making-things-so-difficult" people. dntknw.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Then let's hope they find their way here, where help is handy, easy to find and free. smile.gif
