I might be missing something, but if a Superdrive has everything a combo drive has, why would one want both?

A combo Drive writes CDR's much faster than the Superdrive in my FP imac. If it had been an option when I bought it, I would have bought the 800Mhz processor with the combo drive instead of the Superdrive. As far as wanting both, I suppose if you want to write to CD-Rs fast, and be able to burn DVD's, you would need both.

To reiterate. Combo Drive = CDRW + DVD-ROM. DVD Read only.

Superdrive = CDR Burner and DVD Burner.
