Yep, CSS3 can do amazing things...as long as you leave out almost all MS browsers.
IE9 does pretty well, but you'll need javascript for all the older ones. Along with all the "benefits" that brings.
Of course, many functions of CSS3 still require browser specific prefixes to make things work everywhere (Mozilla=-moz-, Webkit=-webkit-, Opera=-o-, Microsoft=-ms-, etc=-4-1-).
