I got "Daphne" who very much seemed to know what to do. She was familiar with The Problem, which I described fully armed with Tacit's analysis
"We" trashed the old install, then other 6-8 items buried in Library/Preferences and elsewhere – with names that were alphabetic and/or numeric, but all obscure and quite unfamiliar. Not everyone with ML, she said, has to go through the entire drill as I did
AOK now.
She also said their engineers are working a new update to make it easier.
Very patient operative, like the old days with Harmony. I've always thought it was the very best "universal" remote (primarily because of the web site's role in setting-up) though there have been very uneven experiences with tech support. Daphne may indicate an "upgrade" there, too.
