Bless you! The folk in the background (like you guys) are my rock. It is the folk up close who are trying to invade my space who need to go away, far far away.

Know the feeling, Frances. Beautiful photos today.

My 4yo Icelandic stallion is amazing, I have never met a horse so kind.

Thank you. THere is an empty spot in my house and my heart.  I keep seeing him out of the corner of my eye and then I don't. He is not where he is supposed to be.

My sympathies too, Frances. Having had two dogs in my life, I do know that eventually the sadness of the loss will be tempered by the memories of the pleasure you got from his company.

Jack is unhappy

Poor Jack. I feel so sorry for him -- for all of you, but especially for him.

Changing gears here ... what camera and lens did you use on your raindrop close ups? Absolutely stunning photos.

Doing gymnastics on an Icelandic horse has to be the best fun you can have on a Sunday afternoon in Shetland.

For Kimmer

My camera base is a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV

The lens used for the flowers was a Canon EF 180mm F3.5L Macro USM

The lens I use for the "action" shots is a Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS II USM

And the lens I use for the Northern Lights photos is a Canon EF 24-70mm F2.8

I love them all equally.

Some of my little grotty pictures are taken with the Canon Powershot G9 which I am beginning to loathe and detest.

It is about to be replaced by the Leica V-Lux 4

I do, however, really like the little camera in my iPod 5th Gen - now I am getting to grips with it.

I only use a tripod for the Northern Light photos.

I hate my tripods. I trip up over them!

I just love Taktur. Glad you don't chop his head off in the photos. hahaha
