Yet Another iPhone Bug

Researchers find yet another way to get around iOS 6.1 passcode, ars technica
Apple may have a fix for this with the next update since it has stated it will fix a similar bug discovered earlier this month. Both, apparently, use the Emergency Call function.

The video is somewhat amusing in the two-hand requirements! But there seem to be two huge conditions not really mentioned in the article:
    1. Physical possession of the phone
    2. The language seems to change to German!
OK, maybe that second condition is just because it was demoed by some German hackers... Still, physical access any hardware makes it pretty difficult to prevent loss of data, eventually. rolleyes.gif

This 'method' reminds me of the old story about getting a Shakespearean play written if you have enough monkeys, typewriters and time... Perhaps having a computer would make that event faster? I still wonder which play would be the first one delivered... dntknw.gif

Can anyone tell me why there is a linefeed/carriage return before the text? wallbash.gif Admins?

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

Never having been one to point a finger I'll just say that someone had inserted it between the text instructions and the word Researchers, thus:
QUOTE

Researchers...

(Spaces inserted to prevent activation)

If we ever find out who it was we'll hand out a sharp rap over the knuckles nono.gif

Re the Shakespeare play - in light of your comments the most appropriate might be Much Ado About Nothing.
