Very little of the lousy web design highlighted has anything to do with HTML 5, as Jim notes. It's just bad user experience all round, caused by web designers who are more interested in the "look, Ma, see what I can do!" sort of web design than actually conveying information. The last site, Rally Interactive, in particular was a real turn-off. All those silly triangles took you to very uninformative postings on the aptly-named dribble.com for the SAME project. What real designer uses dribble.com to post their work? Really??? Pretty lame.
