"Genie" is Gone
« on: February 23, 2003, 11:11:00 PM »
This is hardly a major problem of western civilization, but would anyone have any idea why the "Genie Effect" has not functioned - - at all - - on either my PB/Firewire 2000 (Pismo) or my spouse's G4 Tower, since we updated both to 10.2.4?

Yes, it's "selected" on the  Dock's Pref panel.

Curious.

RHP,

Sorry I can't really help, but I just thought I would let you know it is still working on my FP imac.  I updated to 10.2.4 the day it was released.  So... it must not be a soley related to 10.2.4.

Try trashing the preference file;

com.apple.dock.plist

If you have TinkerTool installed, make sure one isn't over-riding the other for the mineffect.

You may have to trash both, TT prefs and the user.dock prefs.

If none of that works, you may try using JaguarCacheCleaner to do a light cache cleaning.

Don't know what your problem is with that RHP.

But you do realize that using that slows things down a bit?

It's faster to use Scale Effect.

Also faster to turn off Animate....

If you don't care, fine.
