Perhaps an update of your Profile... at your convenience, of course. It really makes getting some answers faster when we know the hardware/software involved. yes.gif

Just to be devil's advocate for a moment.............

On the one hand, I have a problem with publicly listing my stuff in these equipment profiles on personal security grounds as it provides a convenient list of what a thief might expect to find if he came to the house.

On the other hand, such listings seem like a display of a kind of material narcissism, which is not generally in my character.

I hear you rgray and then I thought "oh, what the heck!" and updated the lot including an up-to-date picture of me!

I will probably remove that when I can find a better one!

I would appreciate a report on Maxthon whenever/if convenient.  TIA

Well I have it as my prime browser on my MBP.

Interesting.

A bit prone to popping up new tabs rather than using the one you have if you ask it to open a site.  This results in millions of little tabs!

It is quick, easy to use.

The Bookmarks are not simple to set up but are achievable if you just persevere (I forgot to export mine from Chrome to Maxthon before I removed Chrome).

So, on the whole, yes I like it.  We are just getting to know each other!

I've been using it off and on for the past couple of days and my experience is much the same as Frances'. I did import my Safari bookmarks - that was a simple, one click operation (I hadn't binned Safari, of course!). I will need to investigate the tab behaviour further - as Frances says, you end up with a lot of 'em!

What?! You're still keeping bookmarks in a browser? wacko.gif laughhard.gif

Surely Maxthon has prefs for how/when to open in a new tab. It's not a bad habit to delve into the prefs of any new app before jumping in with both feet (or fists, in my case. blush-anim-cl.gif). What's available probably depends on what the Chinese developers 'borrowed' from whatever browser they used for the basis of the app. rolleyes.gif

[rant]As for worrying about what might be extracted from one's browsing by using a Chinese Internet product, I doubt it would be anything to do with national security but most likely any and everything about one's personal info that could be of value in the market place. I don't think China (or its usually State-owned companies) are much interested in an individual's political leanings but I'm positive they will do anything in their power to steal anything of financial benefit.[/rant]

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
