am trying to install latest Philips webcam drivers on OS9
(no drivers for OSX) first of all I am trying to delete all reference to previous Philips (won't work) drivers. In trying to do so I get the message " some of the selected items will be skipped because they are inside an invisible folder" in fact when I activate the OK button to remove what I can nothing is removed!.Where are these invisible folders and how does one find something that is invisible?

Try boot up from your system CD and then delete the files.

If you have norton installed on the 9 OS,you can use a feature it has to make invisibles visible.

Bill, do not have Norton of any sort.
Pet, I wish I had the experience that you think I have, The m/c I have is G4 (mirrored doors) and the only disks I have are the ones supplied when new (Dec '02) which is the system disk?

George, To find invisible files visible in OS 9.2.2:
1. From the Finder do a Find (Command + F)
2. In the Menu Bar select Find/More Options (Command + M)
3. In the lower-right of the next screen, under Advanced Options, is the box to select "Invisible." (You may need to toggle the drop down menu.)

One of the better applications (IMNHO) to deal with invisible documents, files, folders, and much more is File Buddy. It greatly eases the finding and removal of invisible files. You can DL a copy (OS 9 or X version) at (bottom of page) http://www.skytag.com/filebuddy/7/download.html.

That should do it George.

If you use Sherlock to find files, and then you try to drag them to the Trash, this is the message you see.

Do not drag them to the Trash. Instead, in Sherlock, click on the File menu and choose "Move to Trash." This will skip the message you see.
