The London time-lapse video
« on: November 26, 2013, 12:57:47 AM »
Impressive, to say the least smile.gif

18,000 shots edited into 2m 47s

QUOTE
During October I spent 8 days cycling 200 miles around London whilst carrying 22kg of camera gear. That week consisted of 3 main tasks. Lots of shooting, transferring photos onto the laptop, and a little bit of sleep... (snip) The raw result was 18,000 photos spanning 364 GB of harddrive space. Cue a few weeks of editing, and I managed to produce the final video.

He added it to Vimeo a week ago, so the editing was done in six weeks or less  WOW.gif

Vimeo breaks up on our work network; I'll watch it at home tonight!

Reminds me of the movie, "Koyaanisqatsi" from the 1980s.

I enjoyed it at home; it was a little loud, I couldn't hear myself cutting the ends off the green beans!  Devilish2.gif

Thats really great!  Love to watch time lapse. I made a couple on my iPhone of clouds going over our sunroom, but they certainly are nothing compared to his wonderful ones.

I emailed him about what he'd used and got a nice reply thanking me for my interest.

The laptop I used was just an old one, all it was good for was backing up the photos. My PC is a bit dated now too, (8gb ram, q9550 processor) so everything took quite a while to edit. Software wise it was adobe stuff, premiere pro, after effects, and photoshop.

Wonder what he could have done - and how much faster - with a nice new Mac wink.gif

Ive never used anything he mentions except Photoshop, but wouldnt that be fun to learn.
My iPhone has the little time lapse apps, but they arent great. My grandson made some pretty cool time lapse movies on his iPad.
