Congratulations to the US team on getting throught to the last 16. You guys will not win it this year but it's definitely possible in the future.

Provided you all realise that the only Football that matters Worldwide is the one played with a round ball!!

I was in the grocery store and everywhere I went there was a cluster of guys spewing forth about the unAmerican football. tease.gif I couldn't get out of there fast enough. laugh.gif

I notice that there doesn't seem to be much padding in soccer! Although I've got a niece and a younger cousin who have both got blown knees from playing I'm thinking that apart from an occasional bite on the shoulder it might be safer to play soccer than American football!  rolleyes.gif

I've been watching and have even thought of going to a game at the very nice new stadium in Kansas City!

You "think" it might be safer? When some professional players are saying they won't let their own kids play! Of course soccer is safer! That's part of the problem with it's lack of appeal in America. American football is simply a modern version of Gladiators in the Arena. I'd love to see any football player keep up the pace of an average soccer player for 45 minutes, much less 1.5 hours! laughhard.gif But that's just my opinion (and several millions of others).

Don't get me wrong, I'm no soccer fan. I wouldn't walk across the street for nearly any type of sport, even with a free ticket! At least now that my kids/grandkids aren't competing now. laughhard.gif I still encourage one of my GD's to play tennis just for the exercise...

You're probably correct. Never any news on the 49'ers during FOOTBALL season. Never a report on the SF Giants—even when they won the world series! eek2.gif But we always get a report on "Grimm" (or whatever it is), and other dopey TV shows. rolleyes.gif
