Webinar Capturing on iPad
« on: August 25, 2014, 10:05:08 PM »
Had lunch with a PC using friend today. Wouldn't have eaten with him but he also has a new iPad! tongue.gif

He wanted to know if I knew of any iPad apps (preferably free yes.gif )  that could capture a webinar he planned to watch on the iPad in a few days. There are several apps that can capture videos you have loaded onto an iPad or that were recorded on it. Many even allow capturing single frames from said video. But I think the 'one app on screen at a time' philosophy makes capturing a webinar virtually and actually impossible.

I've asked him him he absolutely must use the iPad for the webinar; it may be that he has to be some place other than his house. dntknw.gif It would be almost trivial to record a webinar on a real computer with multiple apps visible at the same time, of course. And that video could be loaded onto the iPad, but I suspect that method is not available to him, in this case. Since he's a friend, he may be planning on watching the webinar while in a cell... Thinking.gif

Thanks for any help or experience info. wink.gif

There is a long discussion/debate about this on the Apple forums. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/489304...=0&tstart=0

The ONLY screen capture app for video appears to be this one: http://emu4ios.net - it's all beta stuff.

Thanks, uhmn..., yeeah... I think.

I'm not going to suggest my friend jailbreak his iPad just to find out whether the screen recording app works. He's not a really, really close friend, but with as few of those I have, I can't afford to lose one! eek2.gif

I've probably just drunk too much of the "kool aid" but I haven't seen anything that jailbreaking can provide that I need enough to brick my device(s). The "free" part, I'm sure he would like, of course. Unfortunately, there are too often little 'extras' that are included... That site seems to be run/hosted by some one with English as a second language not always conducive to constructive help. And any 'help' might be hard to get with the 'standard' jailbreak disclaimer:

Haven't looked at the discussions list, yet. You say it's "long" and that usually means convoluted, confusing and seldom provides a general solution that works for the majority. Sometimes even has some arguments and tame name-calling! smile.gif Besides, I'm still a bit warm after waiting for the A/C repair... I'll just let you do all the work/reading since you need something to keep you busy in that cabin ion the woodsprairie! tongue.gif
