Macworld Lays Off Staffers, Closes Print Edition

I admit, I let my subscription lapse over a year ago. About the only thing really helpful were the Mac 911 and other 'help' sections. The reviews/comparison articles were often helpful, also. But I grew rather tired of "100 Best Apps" for your iPhone/iPad" type pages. With a declining subscription base, it's simply impossible to sell ad space. Not many would be willing to pay for the lost income to keep a soon-out-dated document, even if it is printed on slick paper.

I'm not looking forward to more printed magazines folding, but some types are more at-risk than others. Technical types are probably the most likely to fail, in my opinion. It's still sad to see happen, of course. salute.gif R.I.P., Macworld.
