Hey guys, I know there's a way to open a folder, and have it open another window, so that it's possible to move something from inside that folder to the other one, but danged if I can remember what it is. Can somebody please remind this "absent minded" (have you ever really thought about that term?

) ol' dude how to do that? As usual,

Well, yeah, I could drag it onto the desktop, and then shift back to the window showing the folder where I want to drag it, but there used to be a way to open a folder in a "new window". . . Maybe I'm just "mis-remembering!

I'm confused. I have no trouble opening several desktop folders at the same time by double-clicking each one, each in its own window. Is that what you're trying to do? Please clarify.

In 10.10 if you command-click it opens in a new tab, so would that work in 10.5.x?

Have you set your Finder prefs so opening a folder always opens a new window? Is that what you want?

Well, well, well. . . How embarrassing; I simply wasn't double clicking quickly enough!

That did it; thank you. It opened in a new window, rather than just a new tab.

You can adjust the double-click speed, BTW: System Preferences->Mouse
