I'm planning on reviving FileMaker Pro (11.0v4) in a few weeks! Hope you're not throwing water on that plan. eek2.gif I don't even know if it will run in El Capita! Well, at least I now know it does. Haven't opened it in years! rolleyes.gif No idea if he 'patch' would be of any use in my case, anyway.

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

You can always look these things up at http://roaringapps.com - which, BTW, reports that 11.0v4 does indeed work in El Cap. Nobody has reported on it there for Sierra yet.

So, Sierra is now installed on my MBP and everything I've tried so far (browsers, Mail, Photoshop CS6, InDesign CS6, Lightroom 5.7, Word 2016) seems to behave as expected. InDesign took a long time to open, which was worrying, but once it did, it was fine and I didn't see any slow behaviour.

Haven't tested extensively yet, of course, but so far, so good. smile.gif May even install on the iMac.

Do you have CS6? If so, does it run?

According to Roaring Apps, CS6 runs in Sierra.

I dunno... good sense tells me to hold off and be happy I have El Cap. working properly... however now that I'm fresh off an upgrade fever spell is probably a good time in a way and I'm curious.

Besides... I want to see when the next time my ex drops by... fall over when I "talk" to my computer... call her Siri and get an answer...  rofl.gif
He won't do a single thing by computer... would rather drive all over town and then complain about the waste of pricey gas. He loves to needle me about about my "new fangled" things so... ???

I am extremely glad to hear Photoshop CS6 is working... have no desire to fork out for that upgrade just yet.

For reports about upgrading to Sierra, some folks might find this site helpful:-

Thanks, I'd forgot about the change in accessing the user Library. I'll edit some info I just posted in another forum where people are still mentioning the Finder "Go" method. rolleyes.gif

Yes - it runs fine, from what I can tell. I've had no issues in Photoshop CS6 - forgot I was even running a new OS. wink.gif I will be one unhappy camper when CS6 ceases to function, as it no doubt will at some point after some future update. I LOATHE Adobe's subscription model and will likely try my darnedest to find something else to use instead. Unfortunately, nothing out there is quite there yet - though there are many apps getting much closer to being Photoshop-killers. InDesign is another kettle of fish - there is no really good substitute for it, and I sure as heck am not going back to Quirk. Er...Quark. However, there is hope. Serif, who have the Affinity line of apps (and a great photo app from the looks of it - I've yet to try it) have Affinity Publisher set for beta release at the end of this year.

https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/about/ - they offer trial versions as well.

Does MS Office 2008 work in Sierra? So far, Roaring Apps has no data. How about Photoshop CS5? There is only comment about this at Roaring Apps involving problems printing, but that isn't necessarily the fault of CS5.

Thanks for the info on CS6. I don't use CS6 anywhere near it's potential, and I’m way behind in what you can do with this app, but I will likely cry when it ceases to function. Like you, I'm not happy with Adobe's subscription service, and I'll probably learn to struggle with one of the other apps out there, or maybe I'll stop playing around with photos altogether.

Thanks for the info on Affinity. I'll go check out those links.

Lightroom is still a downloadable, "own-able" app. Of course, it's still around at Adobe's whim. Much better, imho, than Aperture was. Best of luck to competitors! cheer.gif

10.12.1 now available at your local interweb connected Mac! wink.gif

a standalone download isn’t yet available.
According to today's TidBITs. sad.gif

additional good advice:
QUOTE
it’s  probably worth downloading sooner rather than later for Sierra  users, given that this is Sierra’s initial bug fix update. If you  haven’t yet updated to Sierra but are planning to soon, hold off for  another week to make sure 10.12.1 hasn’t introduced some new  problem.
Emphasis added...

I updated to Sierra a few days ago, and the only app that stopped functioning was Audio Hijack; set me back $25 to update, but that really wasn't a problem.  LR runs fine, and I've downloaded the "update to the newest OS" but it's sitting and waiting until I restart. . .
