On the old TS, there was an option to view one's personally unread posts. I don't see it here, or am I missing something? I found that option very useful.

The icon marking "Unread" topics depends on the theme. Perhaps we can grab one from each theme to show the differences. When you first get registered, all forums/topics will be marked as Un-read, so it can be hard to see the different icons, in fact, they will all have that icon. Once you've either actually read them all or marked them as read, it will work the same way. You might want to just look at the top few topics in each forum to determine what's been posted in the last few days/weeks. Read those topics and then return to the forum index and click the "Mark as read/Mark Read" link near the bottom of that page.

Thanks, that worked. My avatar looks strange, however. It was more accurate before.

What theme are you using? I think I have their name in the footer, now. Some have much better icons than others. You can change them in a different way than at the old site.
Click the "Pofile" button (and "Account Settings" if it's available there)
In Account settings, select "Look and Feel"
You should now see a list of the themes with a
slightly better than useless thumbnail preview image
There should be a "Use this theme" link below the theme name
If you click that "Use..." link, your page will instantaneously switch to the new theme[/list]You'll really need to get back to the forums list and view some topics to see if the theme is subjectively better, of course. We're working on new graphic/banner images, the simple one there now is just temporary... like the rest of life! ;)

I don't see "Look and Feel" under Account Settings, or anyplace else under Profile.

Look at the bottom of a page where you can see a copyright notice. I assume you are working in the default theme, but I'd like to now for sure. In the mean time, I'll change my theme to the default, sign out and back in as a valued user like you! and see what the menus look like.

Apparently, the Default theme is the one I have been using (under a different name). Anyway, here is a group of images (we can't place images where we want) hopefully in the order of how you will use them. Thus, you will see the actual menu item names, instead of my feeble memory. :wallbash:

1. The Profile menu, select "Account Settings"
2. In the Account Settings page, select "Look and Layout" (forget that "feel" thing... )
3. That word "change" is the action step! It will call up a page that will list all 10 themes.
4. Look for the "[Use this theme]" text and click the below the name of the theme you want to use (until you decide you want another one, anyway)

OK, below are the image thumbnails. This is similar to the way they were at the old site, click one to see it full size.

Jon, I just noticed another way to read all the new posts since your last visit. At the far right edge of the Default theme is a double-left/right arrow. If it is pointing to the right there is a box below with your Avatar and your screen name. The very next text is actually a link labeled "Show unread posts since last visit." You've probably guessed what that does, but the nice part is that it displays a separate page with a list of the unread topics and a link to each one. Handy!

I got to Look and Layout and changed the default setting with no result. I did not see anything about Change except Change Profile at the bottom of the page. Clicking that only confirmed my changes. When I look at my profile summary, the avatar looks fine. It looks distorted when I view one of my posts (such as this one).

Jon, what theme did you change to? You can see the name of the theme you are using at the extreme bottom of any page. There should be a line of text below the copyright line.

The "Default Theme" is simply one of the 10 (I think) themes we have installed. If you had the "Default Theme", you actually were using the "TEMIZ" theme. If you happened to select "TEMIZ" you would not see any change, since that's the same theme you were really using.

Paddy had set the default theme to "Curve", but it some got changed to TEMIZ (don't ask where those letters come from or what they might stand for, no one here knows). The default will probably be set back to Curve tomorrow and you may notice the change when you log in.

Next time you are on that page, scroll down to the bottom and see what theme name is there. If they are the same, there is no point in selecting the same name from the list, nothing will change.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I changed the Time Format theme. I don't see any theme names at the extreme bottom of the page. For some reason (TEMIZ?), my avatar now appears to be normal when I view this thread. Maybe the software gods have been appeased?

Please keep the current theme. I neglected to mention that it looks much different than the previous one and is not only visually more appealing, but is more user-friendly.

My 2¢.

I changed the Time Format theme.
That may require emptying your cache and then refreshing the page. The time may show up in a different place for every view you may be using. Looking at your last post, I see it next to "Reply # xx on: Today at 08:06:15 AM". The "Today" part is a global setting, tomorrow it will show the actual date of May 29, 2018 along with the time.

I don't see any theme names at the extreme bottom of the page.
I suspect that is due to your use of the default theme. You are correct, when you select the Default theme, it does not show the theme name in the copyright area. I tend to use "XenXen", but I thought I had added the theme name to all themes, including "Curve". Checking on that now... Nope, looks like making a theme the default either removes the name or my edits were never made or someone decided to revert them to the original. I saved a copy of all the modifications I made, so I'll double-check to see what I did and when.

Please keep the current theme.

OK, you should now see this text at the bottom of the page (new page or a refresh (after a cache dump) may be required):

Correct.

How do I clear caches? I can use Cocktail or OnyX but they don't mention Safari specifically. And I don't see that text.

In Safari you use the Develop->Empty caches. You can also set Safari's use of caches in the Develop->Web Inspector-Network area. I'll re-post the image showing what to do:
