This morning, I was using my iPad to check my email, and found a message that basically said, "We have your password. . ." and it looked familiar, but I went through my keychain and couldn't find the one they mentioned. I then went through all the saved passwords in notes (keep 'em in iCloud) and couldn't find it there either, so I called Apple, and of course, went through the whole change password routine with them for my Apple account and iCloud.
The email said they had access to my contacts list, which now, of course they don't, and they said that I had accessed a porn site (honest, I haven't!), and they had records of the videos I watched and unless I sent them $2K within 24 hours, they would forward them on to many of my friends. Not worried about that, but they also said that the email had installed a keystroke logger, and even though that email hasn't touched my computer (never downloaded onto it; I isolated it in a "saved" folder on my internet provider), I was wondering if there is a way, through Terminal, to see if and where anything has been installed lately, and how would I do that (I haven't used Terminal much!).
As usual,
