Decided to update the new iWork apps (
NOT Safari, yet!) today. As soon as I clicked the "Update" button on one of them, up popped a notice that I could not proceed until I had clicked the (probably) the "Agree" at the bottom of the new terms and conditions. Of course, there is no test at the end to verify that the viewer actually has read, much less understands, the new ToS.
Never the less, I recommend reading as much of them as you can stand. Here are some suggestions to help you maintain some interest and attention while reading them.
1. Did you recognize any changes?
2. Did you see anything that you did not understand?
3. Did you learn anything that you didn't know?
4. Do you have a better understanding about how little [insert and company/developer name here] guarantees about their product/software?
5. Did you print out (even as a PDF) the agreement you digitally "signed"?
The text on the dialog is almost humorous, "Are you sure you have read and agree to the Apple Media Services Terms & Conditions?"
That is meant to be a "Yes/No" question, is it not? But there are actually two different questions because of the little word "and". Of course the generic answers are "Cancel" and "Agree".
Enjoy your updated apps. I'm still waiting for more reports on Safari. The "iWorks" stuff are rarely used and nothing important or legal is stored in them.
