Maybe so, but the question was whether it could be found cheaper.  wink.gif

Then, too, the other link was to only a 10.2 CD, not the full update. You'd have to download the 10.2.6 anyway.  Me, I'd go the least expensive route then put the savings toward Panther which is only around the corner.

Thank goodness there are "No Dumb Questions".

What is a "Gray" CD?

What are the differences between Kris' linked installs and 10.1.4 Full Install 'Gray' CD + the full Apple OS X 10.2.x 'Jaguar' Update Set

First. I agree with Leo. The Full Install is preferable. smile.gif

That's what I listed. And I haven't seen cheaper yet.

Jennie. I'm guessing that means a non-machine specific Install CD.

I could be wrong. smile.gif

The original X disks are gray - Jaguar disks are white with the "X" in jaguar pattern.

If you're not in a hurry Jennie, I'd just wait for Panther. Otherwise, I'd have a good look at eBay or OWC. The hour or two needed to do the upgrades is worth the dollars saved, IMHO. After all, if my experience is anything to go on, you won't have to do it again. smile.gif None of my OS X installs have needed reinstalling, ever. I've changed my mind on partitioning and added hard drives - but the installs themselves have never let me down. Not sure what the deal will be if you buy a retail version of Jag now - when the cutoff will be for free/almost free upgrades to Panther. This isn't a tidbit that Apple has given us yet, and until we have a firm release date for Panther, it will be speculation at best.

I stand by my opinion. smile.gif

I'd rather find another way to save $20 or whatever it is. smile.gif
