I get a similar message with regard to MS Office 2008 after I installed Mojave 10.14.5 ("will not work with next version of the OS").How concerned should I be, and what should I do?
Thanks
Joe
I have MS Office 2008 in Mojave. I never use Excel or Powerpoint, but I do have use for Word and Entourage. Entourage works but it's a bit temperamental at times. Word also works, but not as well as in previous OS incarnations.
I bit the bullet and subscribed to MS Office 365 because I prefer Word over all the other word processing apps that I have tried, including Pages, Libre Office, and Open Office. I set up Outlook but I have an issue that must be addressed by my ISP before I switch to it, namely that the POP account that Entourage uses has been converted to IMAP in Outlook. It's probably a simple fix but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
I have noticed that Outlook has lost some features that I have in Entourage. It is very easy to add a vcard to Entourage by simply dragging it into the Address field (I create a contact in Contacts and drag it to the desktop to create the vcard). To add the vcard to Outlook, I have to Control-click it and open it with Outlook. Then, I opt to save it and close. In addition, adding an attachment to an email in Entourage is simple; just drag the attachment's icon into the Entourage icon in the dock. This doesn't work in Outlook; I have to click the paper clip icon, navigate to the attachment, and then add it.
I have tried Mail and Thunderbird, but prefer Entourage. Outlook has many similarities to Entourage so the transition is easy. I have read good things about Airmail but haven't tried it yet. I'll probably do it at some point because it's only $10, a sum that I don't mind wasting.
Bottom line: MS Office 2008 won't work after Mojave so we both have to look at alternatives. As Jim pointed out, it's 32-bit and Mojave is the last OS that supports 32-bit apps.
