Catalina and incompatible software

I will be upgrading to Catalina in the near future. I know that 32-bit apps will not run and I intend to delete them. My question: Will the installation move them automatically to  /Incompatible Software or will I have to manually delete them?

Just to see what would happen, I booted from a cloned external backup drive and installed Catalina there. I did not like the result, so I reformatted that drive and went back to Mojave 10.14.6

What I did not like was that the Catalina installation partitioned its drive. I expect to try it again and experiment with it some more, anticipating the day when I will be forced to move to Catalina.

(I agree that diapers and politicians should be changed often.)

I don't think I have any 32-bit apps left except Google Earth Pro. Probably will not upgrade that until I am forced to go to Catalina.

One possibility for those that absolutely, positively need to run a 32 bit app is a "virtual machine" like Parallels. It's not free, of course. It's usually something folks use to run a Windows app but it could just as well run an older (pre-Catalina macOS 10.15) version of OS X. There is a "Lite" version, but I'm not sure what capabilities are lost in that version.
