clap.gif Hello All,

I was overjoyed to learn that my eldest daughter, Robin Geoghegan, of California, has won First Prize in a singing contest on August 6th, 2003.  She had to sing the Los Angeles Airport Theme song for 2003 their 75th Anniversary.

Many TV and Radio Stations were present at the event and I wish I knew more about how to use links on TS so that I could let you see the pictures.
If the links work, there is one with a lot of pictures and her picture is the last and one more diagonally up one line and to the left of the last picture.
She won an all expenses trip for two (she will be taking her husband and greatest supporter, Will, with her) to the Grand Ole Opry with VIP Treatment , a stay at the Opry Land Resort, and On Stage seating at the Grand Ole Opry.  I do think that there will be people from the recording industry will be there.

At last, the time spent at Hunter College, New York, where she studied Theater Arts, will manifest itself in some dividends for her.  Albeit, a bit late.  She sang from the time she was a little girl and loved to entertain us.

I haven't heard her sing in a very long time.  She always had a lovely voice (if I do say so myself.)  She has been practicing singing for years at various clubs.  She loves Country Music, as do all her siblings.

Anyway, the link that I used from my mail (and I hope it works for you- as, well, remember you are dealing with the infamous
MrsLop, who knows nothing about computers or computing!)are listed below.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

thanx.gif trish,

Glad to see you back on the TS Board.

I enjoy our private chats even more.

I am just so amazed at what my daughter can do.

She did say that she didn't want anything to interfere

with family, as that is the most important thing in her

life.  I hope that she always remembers that.

Have a great weekend.

Myrna

rolleyes.gif Hello Harv,

It has been a while since we chatted.

Thanks for the kudos.  I will pass them along to my

daughter.

When they (my four children) were young, I always

dreamed that one day they would be doctors or lawyers.

As time went by, my philosophy changed.  I just wanted

them to be happy.  I didn't care what it was that they did

for a living, as long as it made them feel competent and

they looked forward to their work.  As far as I am

concerned, the most ideal position in life is when you

have found your "bliss".  Barring that, the next best

thing, is to pursue it (whatever makes them happy etc.,

after work.)  I always told them to do what they loved

and the money would come.

There were times that I thought that they were

underachieving or settling for less.  I guess all parents

want the very best in life for their children.

Life can really be strange.  I thought that Robin had

given up her acting and singing dreams.  I just found

out the other day, that she sings as often as she can.

She has been in California for so long that I don't get to

see her very often.

The last time she visited Rhode Island, was in January of

this year.  She wanted me to see my new grandson,

Garrett.  Of course, I think that my Cancer and Surgery

may have been a factor.

It is Robin who was responsible for my getting email to

begin with.  So, indirectly, she was responsible for my

reaching out to TS.  Happy Day!

smile.gif Well Hello Gregg,

It's been a while.

Funny you should mention the audio, many of Robin's

friends told her that they couldn't figure out KZLA's

website, so they couldn't get any information.  I know I

searched myself and so did my husband; and try as we

might, we couldn't find out a thing.

Fortunately, two of her friends managed to get the

little information that they did and she forwarded it

in a few emails.

thanx.gif and nice to talk to you again!

smile.gif Morning Gary,

As I just explained to Harv, Robin is still very focused

and rightfully so, on her husband and her son.

She told me that she was overwhelmed by the

attention, news people pushing microphones in her face,

people asking for her autograph and the like.

I just reminded her that as long as she knew who she

was and what she was about, that she would be fine.

We are a people of great faith and we are not

embarrassed or ashamed to thank God for all that He

has given us.

Robin prays and has been very attentive since my bout

with Cancer began late last year.

She and her husband, Will, are going to do a race to

benefit Cancer Treatment, in my honor.  My cup runneth

over.

Thank you for the support for Robin and I will be sure to

tell her what you said.

 thanx.gif

rolleyes.gif  Well, well, well, Hello Dreambird,

I asked kelly where you were just the other day in one of

my posts.

I just wanted you to know that you have been missed!

Dreambird, speaking just for myself, I think that wisdom

is living long enough to learn from your mistakes.

Heaven knows, I have made enough of them in my life.

I know that I am not perfect and that I will not stop

making mistakes, however unintentional they may be.

The good news is, that God willing, I will learn from them.

My joy is in my family.  I try never to say anything to them

about making mistakes, after all, I have made mine.

My hope is, that when they make them, that they are

not fatal or do not hurt others deliberately when they

do make them.

Nice to have you back on the board again.

thanx.gif for the kind words about Robin.  I have so much

to tell her about what TS members have said about her.

Myrna
