sync folders pro?
« on: September 09, 2021, 11:45:08 AM »
I came across SyncFoldersPro, which claims to be able to make bootable clones. Does anyone have any experience with it? Carbon Copy Cloner has issues with making bootable external drives but this developer claims that this app can do it.

Took a look.  Clicked on the "pro version" 4.4   listed there are the "Pros and Cons"   The only entry under "Cons" stated        "Does not support creating a bootable version of your hard drive"

I can believe that. If Mike Bombich (developer of Carbon Copy Cloner) can't do it, it probably can't be done. In all fairness, it is possible to make a bootable clone with CCC but you have to start with a blank external drive. Thereafter, CCC can update data but not the OS. As the saying goes, if it seems too good to be true...
