How to sell old MBPro?
« on: September 12, 2025, 11:43:36 AM »
My old Mac Book Pro is a 15" device, 2012, with OS10.15.7.
2.3 GHz. 16 mb RAM.
I want to sell it locally for a cheap price. How to prepare it properly?...
Do I use Disk Utility to erase all my old data?
Should I upgrade the OS to the latest version?
How do I erase my admin password?
Your guidance would be appreciated!

Read How to factory reset a MacBook or Mac: Reset a Mac to factory settings Your MacBook Pro is Intel and undoubtedly does not have a T2 chip. Scroll down in that article to see the procedure. You already have the latest OS version that it can handle. As to the administrator password, when you erase the disk, that will be gone as well as everything else. It will be pristine, just the way you bought it, virginity restored!  :D
