Kelly:  At my school (University at Buffalo), Microsoft gives all enrolled students a FREE copy of Office X (or the windows version if you own a PC).  I'm pretty sure UB isn't the only school to get this MS benefit.

So let me add my advise to your deal.  If you are a student or faculty of a university, first check out any free software benefit that the campus offers.
