« on: August 25, 2003, 12:00:21 AM »
Every time I play a quicktime movie netscape 7.02 crashes with a type 1 error after the movie plays. I 'm running quicktime 6.03 and OS9.1. I did not have this problem with QT 4. Anyone else having this problem? sad.gif

Well Kelly I just up the memory from 80 megs to 90 megs on Netscape and from 30 megs to 60 megs on Quicktime,  dry.gif   I'll try that for awhile.

My problem seems to be the quicktime player. It freezes the whole computer on long quick time movies. Did it with IE too. Short movie trailers play ok on both browsers. I have a ton of memory set for everything.  Thinking.gif  Can't figure this one out???  Also trashed all of the quicktime 5 stuff I could find.

I checked Apples Quicktime BB last night. I found several people with the exact same problem. Quicktime 6.03 does not play well with G3's running OS 9.1 or 9.2.   verysad.gif I've reverted back to QT 5.02.

That's too bad. huh.gif

I was going to suggest Trashing the OT 6.03 Preferences.

Well, I reinstalled QT 6.03 and started experimenting. I found that it works fine on movies that only require QT 5. Also if I dont stream the movie, just make it download before it plays, it usually plays ok without freezing the computer   wacko.gif  doh.gif ,very strange. Thinking.gif
