dunsford16. Hello. Welcome to the Forum. smile.gif

That's a tough one. I didn't even recognize the machine. huh.gif

Does it look like this?

It's been my experience, that if there is one, it's near the Processor.

You might ask these folks here.

That was quick!!.

The good news is that the layout is exactly as;

so.... any ideas where the button/switch could be??.

dunsford16. I can't really tell from those pictures.  huh.gif

They're kind of fuzzy.

There's about ten things that look like they could be it.

The ones I've seen are a small button in a half-inch or so square.

They only depress a mm. or two.

Here's another Forum to ask at.

It seems CW is still in business but I don't see support for the old machines.

Still looking!!. have posted messages on both the sites mentioned and await replies.

I do have a confession to make. Although I have used macs for over 10 years the only time I have taken the covers off is to fit more memory so I don't really know what is what. I do know that I have to be careful of static so am being very careful what I touch.
Any more pointers would be very appriciated, like which is the processor!!.

Problem solved!!!. received the following from Applefritter Forum;

the button is small(about 4mm), grey, in a small metal box and it is located here:

find the DIMM slot nearest the SCSI connector.
follow the slot straight back(towards the ports of the computer)
and yoiu have found your pot of gold

Found it straight away and computer working fine.

Many thanks for all the help.

clap.gif  Good news.

I can see it now in the above referenced picture, to the right of the bottom RAM slot.

Nice to know, not that I'll ever have to confront one in a clone.

As to the processor I would guess it is the large bronze colored item in the upper left area with the silver X on it.  Looks like a heat sink which makes me believe the processor is below.

dunsford16. Glad it worked out for you. smile.gif

If you want to learn more. This is the place to do it.

Stop back any time.

I think it's a shame when people get one question answered.

And then don't come back.  huh.gif
