I'm not sure of the numbers in Sweden, but I recently heard that 90% of the Swedes (all ages!) has Internet access and I think it was about 75% of them that has some type of broadband. Most common is actually fiber network at 2 to 10 MBit.
The government has a goal that 90% of the Swedes (i.e. all that has Internet access today) is going to be able to surf the web waves at least ADSL speed, but in the cities at higher speeds (10MBit and more). This is to make it possible for someone living in a very remote area to be able to stay and work from home instead of having to move into a larger city.
We pay about $35 USD a month for our 10MBit connection.
For fun comparission we pay $25 USD
A YEAR for our cable tv
