Interesting!

When the author writes
"With non-optimized applications (i.e., most applications), there will be little difference in performance whether you're using a G3 or a G4."

I gotta wonder what they mean by "performance". Is it overall system performance, of relative to a particular application?

And that last paragraph about a G3 with AltiVec makes my head spin!

Z. The OS itself is optimized for the G4. smile.gif

One advantage of the G3 is less heat. Possibly Battery life also.

And of course cost.

Don't know how much longer they'll be around though. smile.gif
