A Day to Congratulate Mr. AND MrsLop!
« on: September 07, 2003, 08:27:44 AM »
Today’s The Day to congratulate, Tom and MrsLop,
Let’s hope Are-Eye is bright and sunny, with nary one raindrop!
For y’see it’s their ann-i-vers-a-ree, this fine September 7,
TSers, all, dispatch warm wishes, for the match that was made in heaven.

May Tom and Myrna savor joy, as this day they renew their vows
A charming couple, they surely are, for whom countless cheers are roused
To the legion of friends who fill the hall with ex-u-ber-ant “Huzzahs”
Now come TSers - - newbies to that group - - to add our own “Rah-rahs!”

With a little luck the bride’s trusty Mac will rise again to browse,
She’ll surf the ‘net with the wit and charm she’s shown us up to now,
We’ve never seen a wannabe arrive with such élan
We applaud her style and wish her well as the happy years march on.

Congratulations, Myrna and Tom

I'd Marry You Again
by Anne Peterson

With tiny tears that glistened, my eyes were fixed on you,
And thinking of the life we'd share, we softly said "I do."

Our hearts were knit together from the time that we first met,
And memories were gathered, that we never will forget.

While daily living life with you, you saw the real me,
And still you chose acceptance, a lifelong mystery.

With many happy days gone by, and others when we cried
Some days we'd share so endlessly, while other days we'd hide.

With all the ups and downs we've had, in learning to be friends,
I know that in this heart of mine, I'd marry you again.

All the best, Myrna & Tom!!! biggrin.gif

And yes, Dick, if the weather 50 miles to the north is anything to go by, they're enjoying a "perfect" early September day!

Does "renewing your vows" mean that your next anniversary will be your "first", the second time around?   biggrin.gif Hopefully, you remember all the "lessons" you had to learn, those first few years. . .I remember that the learning curve was fairly steep!  Congratulations, guys!

Happy Happy Happy!!

Blessings on the past year, more blessings on the next year(s).
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

Today is a wonderful day!

Tom and I were very touched by this unexpected but wonderful addition, to a very blessed happy occasion.

Our Anniversary was celebrated with other couples with a combined total of 2,700 years of Marriage. The Cathedral of STs Peter and Paul was the setting for a Mass said by the Bishop of Providence, Robert Mulvee
His Homily, which focused on each of the vows, really spoke to me. Often, we would rather have the "for richer" rather than "for poorer",or "in health" rather than "in sickness" part of Marriage. I will not forget his very relevant statements.

We were so pleased to celebrate with two other couples from our very own church - St Patrick: one couple celebrating 65 years of Marriage and another couple celebrating 52 years of Marriage. Tom and I have something to aspire to.

At the reception, held after the Mass, the Bishop  posed for pictures with each of the couples - and given to us as a gift by the Bishop; and we were presented with a Certificate with our names and year of Anniversary.

On a more personal note, the Bishop said that he would pray for me concerning my Cancer and health issues. I could not ask for anything more than this.

That our Anniversary should fall exactly on this day of the year at this event was, I think, a very great blessing on Tom and me.

As an added blesssing to the day, I arrived home to see that my TS family sent its own warm wishes to Tom and me.

From our hearts we say:

"Thank You" for all you did to add to the joy of our Anniversary."

Myrna and Tom
