More G5 (and G4) Woes!!!!
« on: September 16, 2003, 11:53:33 PM »
Bad enough my scanner is activating the wrong program, my Eudora alert sound is not working (although checked), a game CD which never needed to be put in the drawer after installation now needs to be "checked" every time I want to play, but now my problems extend to the G4 which my husband is unhappily clicking away on, trying to accustom himself to Jaguar ( and not WELL, I might add)- the date has disappeared from the menubar - I know it was always there, and it is happily ensconced above me right now on my G5 - but no matter what I do to the settings on the G4, I have the time, no date.  Can anyone help? I wouldn't care, but he does!!!! Oh, and did I happen to mention that I wistfully dream about the good old days with OS9 and earlier when I knew what I was doing?????wallbash.gif  wallbash.gif

From my experience, the buttons on scanners never seem to work right (even on PCs). I would suggest opening the program you want to scan from, and using the scanning features that way.

I have never used Eudora in the past, so I can't help you there. Have you tried Mail.app? It works wonderfully for me.

What game is that? Almost all games nowadays need to have the CD in the drive for copy protection.

The setting you need to check for the Date in the menubar clock is located at SystemPreferences ->Date & Time - >Menu Bar Clock tab ->Show Day of the Week.

I hope this helps a little.
