By the link inside the software update it reads like a lot is for bluetooth.

Regardless I am going to download it later once it is available through apples site.

Since I did a full-scale backup just yesterday I decided to go for it.

Not even sure what's supposed to be new that might apply to me--I have no Bluetooth uses. But I gotta say, during the first 20 minutes or so of use, things do seem snappier--notably the opening times for Photoshop & PDFs.

I've been keeping track of the chat on different boards where developers hang out and talk about seed releases. I read that the update would be released today.

Wouldn't you know it... This morning, I checked Software Update three times to see if the download was ready and nothing... dry.gif

Now I'm at work. tongue.gif

Oh well... it'll be there when I get home.  wink.gif

Did you notice any difference in Safari? I have been using Camino due to bugs in Safari. If they are cleaned up I would go back to it.

Does anyone besides me think this latest upgrade seems to speed things up? I notice it quite a bit with Safari. clap.gif

iGuy, I don't quite understand why you would want to wait. You're missing out on the unfolding of the best operating system Apple has produced. Each upgrade has been better than the previous one.

I have installed the 10.2.8. update and have been using it most of the day.  It seems stable enough and I did of course repair permissions and ran Disk Warrior 3 after the install.  Everything does seem a bit snappier, and Sarfari is running a little faster.   tongue.gif

I haven't seen any difference in Safari, but I suppose that's because I don't use it. While I'm sure it's a great browser, I have had Camino set up with the bookmarks I prefer for so long, I've never found a reason to switch.

The DL and install was uneventful. All seems normal to me. Permissions Repair were a bit more extensive than normal, but not more than with other OS upgrades.

The only Preference change I've noted is that there is now a combined Keyboard & Mouse Preference with a Bluetooth tab. and Safari is now at v85.5.

I suspect most of the improvements (aside from Bluetooth) will be a consequence of improved stability & reliability. To the extent that day-to-day performance is enhanced, I dunno.

Since upgrading, two of my customizations went back to default.

I use TransparentDock and like others have reported, the Dock is now back to the default appearance. I don't plan to do anything until I see a new version of TD at VersionTracker. At least a couple people had problems with their Dock completely dissappearing when that attempted to modify it after the update.

I use SafarIcon to customize the menu look and it's back to default. Again, I'll wait for the SafarIcon update, or at least I'll check the developer's site for any information before I run the application.

<edit>

I just ran SafarIcon and it worked perfectly.
