Using Outlook Express (latest version)
I wonder if anyone can tell me why when forwarding an email that has an image in it, the image is not forwarded.
Or why an email with a link to another site, the link does not work when forwarded.
OR.........
I save an email that I received in a folder I call "HOLD".
Later I open that folder, highlite that email message. click on copy.
Open a new email, click paste, and all the message is now in the new outgoing email, BUT......
the link does not work, and the image is missing.
What am I doing that is not correct.

Hello Lou. Welcome to the Forum. smile.gif

Under some Preference you need to  "Enable HTML message formatting".

This has it's drawbacks.

But whatever you like. smile.gif

Hello Lou,   welcome.gif

Which email client are you using?

When you "copy" from the menu bar it only copies text. Images would have to be drag/dropped from one message to another.

BTW, another "Lou" from SanDiego North County is looking for other TS members locally.
Hmmm...

TS local members?

You do not do that by hilighting the message, clicking Copy, making a new message, and clicking Paste. That copies only the *text*--nothing else.

You forward a message by clicking on the button labelled "Forward" when you are looking at the message.

TACIT. thanks for the info but it does not work for me.

Forwarding the Email includes all the text, including the attachments, but not the images.

I have to add an instruction for the reader to double click on each of the attachments to see the images.

I have been collecting Emails about same subjects, then sending them out as one larger Email, thereby reducing amount of mail. But those with images are problems.

Any other ideas or suggestions. wallbash.gif

Forwarding the Email includes all the text, including the attachments, but not the images.

In that case, everything is ok and there's nothing you can do.

There is no standard way for displaying an attached picture inside the body of an email. The way an attached picture is handled--as an inline omage or as an attachment--depends on the email program the person who receives the email is using.

I bet you are forwarding the email to a person who is using a different program from you--one that does not display images inline. Nothing you can do about it.
