Weird HTML problem

Usually, I don't need help with HTML, but in this case one problem is driving me nuts! wallbash.gif

It really is an odd problem.
Links go crazy with following URL: http://www.gundam-seed.net
I really cannot explain it to myself.
The link's style is defined via CSS, but all CSS commands are ignored with this URL (the link is displayed in the colors defined in the <body> tag. no hover-effect).

http://www.gundam-seed.com works, but not .net.

I'm not sure I follow you. I just looked at the site with Safari and it seems to work perfectly.

No. Not on that website.

On another website I am currently building, I have a link linking to gundam-seed.net. And that link won't work.

Lukas:  I have tried three times to get to http://www.gundam-seed.com .  Error message says it can not be resolved.

http://www.gundam-seed.net loads beautifully.

The reason may be that the two sites are registered to different people.

It's neither about the website http://www.gundam-seed.net, nor about http://www.gundam-seed.com.

I am working on a website (not yet online), which links to http://www.gundam-seed.net. One link refuses to accept the pre-defined CSS styles. It's a white link which is supposed to be underlined when the cursor is moved on it (hover). Unfortunately, the link does not accept the CSS commands when the URL links to http://www.gundam-seed.net. It must be some problem with the '-' in combination with '.net', because when I enter a '.com' URL the CSS style works. For instance, when I use techsurvivors.net, the link highlights fine.

I double and tripple checked the code and cannot find the error.

I have added the code of my CSS file and the HTML file. Perhaps someone of you sees the error (my guess is that there's a conflict somewhere).

The problem is where it reads <a href="http://www.gundamseed.net" class=white target="_blank">here</a>

It's not an HTML problem. It's CSS. But it's not a CSS problem, either. It's a problem with Safari.

You are exactly correct! The "_" is the problem. Just because some browsesr let it by doesn't mean it is correct.

From Web Design Group:
"Classes may contain only the characters A-Z, a-z, 0-9, Unicode 161-255, hyphens, or escaped Unicode characters as numeric codes."
