Three line names for icons on desktop
« on: November 08, 2003, 01:32:36 PM »
In Jagwire, there was an option/preference/setting that allowed one to use three line names for the icons on the desktop.

But in Panther, I can no longer find where this capability is established. wallbash.gif
It's not so much that I need it, I just wanna know. Thinking.gif

TIA

Eureka, I knew I had used it, but frustration reigned as I could not (re)find it. My problem was solved upon opening TinkerTool v3.0.1. It is there that this capability exists. Alas, it limits the number of text lines to two (not three as I said), but my quest for resolution is now ended.

So try OnyX, I believe this'll give you three lines per label.

Thanks Karl. I don't really need the three lines. I was mainly concerned that some setting in Jaguar, that should have carried over to Panther, did not make the transition. That, and knowing of course, that I am not (yet) losing it.

Still, thanks for alerting me to OnyX. It may well come in very handy. tongue.gif

OnyX is similar to Cocktail, it's free and does the job...but watch what you're changing and to what. Inexperienced users may create unnecessary problems on their systems.
