MSN ADSL

The small town I live in is supplied by QWest for phone service, which I have used for isp for some time. MSN finally piggy backed in with them for ADSL. They send a USB modem and software which I would set up myself.
Has anyone here had experience with MSN and their service? Supposidly the up and down speeds are 245 and 640 maximum. On dialup, my usuall connection speed has been 46.6K.
Any experienced info appreciated.

I can't speak about their service, but I would try and get an ethernet modem.  Why tie up bandwidth on the USB.  I have heard of many people having problems with USB modems.  Service providers like them because they don't need to worry about PC users installing a NIC .  All recent macs have ethernet built in.

I have ADSL from centurytel (my local phone company)  Connected through a Westell ethernet dsl modem.  I share this connnection with another mac through a linksys router.  I would never go back to dial up.  My speeds are comparable to what you are being offered.  It is probably fast enough, but when I hear what some others are getting around the country I wish for more

Thanks Steve, that was pretty much my take on the USB vs ethernet situation. My USB ports are pretty well laden as it is  and I have the gigabit ethernet port just setting there doing nothing. Now to locate an Emodem. Hmm, wonder if anyone makes an Emodem-router combo, well off to the land of search.
