I tried to boot up my computer and all I got is an error message saying there was a "time synchroniser error - error type 41"

When I re start as instructed the **** machine reverts to th same message!

Have inserted the system disc but cannot make sense of where to go and what to do.............

I bought the machine secondhand with software installed and don't have discs, so I really would prefer not to re-install if at all possible as I would lose all my programmes.

Has anyone got any ideas to help me out? my daughter is giving me a hard time for hogging her machine - HELP

It sounds like a corrupt Finder.

definitely that problem, but having trouble acting upon the advice. Anyoe want to furnish me with a step-by-step?

Boot from your OS 9 CD. Open the System Folder on your Hard Drive. Now open the CD to where you see the Finder. Drag that Finder and drop it on your System Folder. Now open the Preference folder in your hard drive and drag the Finder preference out to the trash. Reboot and you should be all set.

Thank you so much for your help. The computer is now up and running again, no programmes lost.
