Best wishes to all for a Happy and (very) healthy New Year! (Does Philadelphia count as its own country? There are many who believe we speak out own language.  rolleyes.gif )

It's a Happy New Year already in at least 12 regions of the U.S. To those who's favorite football team did not make the playoffs, Happy Next Year!

Wishing all health and happiness...

With Asia, Britain, and the USA's East Coast and Middle West chiming in, 'bout time for the West Coast to add its Happy New Year to the pile.

So there! thumbup.gif

And since I live in my own little world (it's ok, they know me here...), Happy New Year from us.
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

As a Canadian let me wish one and all in both of our official languages:

Happy New Year and the best for 2004!

Bonne année et les meilleurs voeux pour 2004!

And then there is our 3rd language: Frenglish (pronounced Fringlish):

'Appy New Year les gars (pronounced gah)

Happy a good one everyone smile.gif
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Happy New Year from a very un-wintery New England! 49 degrees out there, and I'm not complaining!

T'was the month after Christmas, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.

The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,

The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---

I said to myself, as I only can "You can't spend a winter
disguised   as a man!"  So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruitcake, every cracker and chip.

Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

I won't have a cookie--not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot,
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!
