Tech / iTunes, No longer working
« on: May 28, 2018, 07:07:01 PM »
I'm having a problem with my wife's Mac Book Pro running OS 10.13.4, this is a late 2003 model, 2.3 Ghs core i7.
My problem is that iTunes quit working, was getting the beach ball, removed all preferences I could find and installed on them on a separate drive, once this was done I “safely removed” the hard drive and tried running iTunes, now all I get is a blank screen, I can still see finder and it shows that iTunes is running but is not. No beach ball, but no action on iTunes. Can I just remove the iTunes app and redownload the app???

My new 27in iMac  as you know does not have a external drive and I am toying with the idea of buying one.
I am hearing good/bad reports, on the down side there is no eject button and am also hearing that it when asked to eject it can be
a bit iffy and yet there are those that consider it to be the next best thing to sliced bread. I do know that one of illustrious committee members owns one and it sits snugly under the screen.
Advice or suggestions please.
George

Yes there is no eject, I have run external drives on my Mac's using solid state drives for quite some time now and as far as I'm concerned they are worth it! Never tried the CD/DVD version though!

Tech / iPhone 7
« on: September 23, 2016, 07:11:46 PM »
Well I preordered two iPhone 7’s plus on the 16th, one for my wife, both with max memory, I live for my music! They came today, very nice. was running the 5s and my wife's was the 5c, a very nice upgrade. Yes, due to the memory, it cost’s, I don’t care as I said, I live for my music which the 5s, due to the minimum memory could not upload my music to it, I only have 9000 songs. My next learning process is to learn to operate it on my trucks sound system, can’t wait! The screen on the new phone is VERY clear, have not used the camera yet but tomorrow is a new day! Was it free, NO, but worth every penny!

Even though you gave us a great list of hardware specs, I still can't tell if it will run Windows 10. This os mainly because Apple feels we shouldn't need to know these kinds of specifications. Instead, they want us to know when the hardware was first offered for purchase. wallbash.gif Here's a link to <Apple's list of hardware that will support Windows 10 with Boot Camp>. You'll have to check the Fusion and/or Parallel site to see if you can run those virtual machines. dntknw.gif

I'm not sure why you want to waste a Mac to run the whole M$ OS: I assume you have many non-Mac apps. dntknw.gif You can, however, run Word, Excel, that presenter thing, etc. through the cloud/subscription:

Thank you, yes the new Mini does support 10, now I hope it works with my security system, it should, Techsurvivors shines again, and again thank you!!!!

I have Office on my MacPro, I think Word is a great program and that's all I use out of Office, I need to rum 7 or better for my security system (cameras and so on) I wish it would run on Mac but it won't! Where I live has had a ration of break in's in my area, although I have my 5 acres fenced, my wife is worried when I'm away, I showed her how to use her 38 but she said she might get scared and mess up and shoot the wrong thing! I know this is a curse word for Mac's but I'd rather have a Mac running Microsoft then get a IBM! Question is can a new Mac Mini run their 10 or am I stuck with 7? The new Mini will be a
2.8GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
16GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
1TB Fusion Drive
I need to run Microsoft for my new security system, and as always, thank you!!!! wallbash.gif

I thought I read that M/A would not work with that old of an OS, if I remember correctly even 10.5.6 won't work with M/A, but not sure?

Here is another fake phishing one.
I know some people who have replied to these, wish they wouldnt.
Jane

They are coming from USPS, UPS, FedEx as well as Airborn and DHL, it is also posted on Snoops, they contain a virus that attack IBMs, I'm sure Mac's are not far behind!
