2003 / Off-Topic Posts--Do we want them?

I said I'd report results, thought it might take a while to get enough answers to see a trend.  WRONG! 27 answers all in favor of off-topic posts. I bow to the overwhelming majority. notworthy.gif

Hi All-

It seems to me that there a lot of posts to this forum that have nothing to do with Macintosh, software or hardware.

For me, this is inapproprite and waste of bandwidth. However, I might be the only one who is annoyed by off-topic posts. So how about a poll?

Do you favor off-topics posts?
or
Do you wish there were no off-topic posts?
or
Do you not care one way or the other?

If you'll take the time to reply to this (off-topic) post, I 'll tabulate all posts and report back.

2003 / Removing Shut Down/Restart messages

I just remembered how I originally manged to get rid of the shutdown/restart messages.

I had Fruit Menu installed.  In Fruit menu one of the Apple Menu choices is for quitting without the message, another choice is for restarting without the message.

This is THE solution for those who are: a) too forgetful to hold down the Option key, and B) too technically challenged to use terminal commands.   wink.gif

2003 / Junk Email :(

Eudora's version 6 (beta) has a spam (called "junk" in Eudora) filter that, for me, has removed virtually all spam coming my way.

How do I remove the annoying  "Are you sure you want to restart?" and "Are you sure you want to shut down?" messages in OS 10.2.6?

I did this in 10.2.3 but i can't remember how.
