2008 / OS 10.4.11 Update
« on: January 18, 2008, 07:48:03 AM »
If you downloaded and installed any modifications to Safari you might want to disable/remove them before upgrading. Safari was a non-starter for me and it took quite a while to figure out what was wrong. Should be an easy topic to search for in the forums.

Jane: you might ask what the grizzled one is saying yes to before making your purchase. That said, methinks your guess is right and therefore that you are doing the right thing.

2006 / OT: Remember the Fifties?

Don'cha remember the Big Bands of the 40's?
Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Guy Lombardo, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Sammy Kaye, Paul Whitman.  And the singers, Vaughn Monroe, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Dina Shore, Kate Smith, a kid named Frank Sinatra.
You young folks missed a lot! Some of you may not even have seen Kilroy's signature!

One of the things I really like about the iPod/iTunes is that they give us the opportunity to download and play those treasures; for the most part I stopped listening to music stations back around the mid-fifties and truly decry the poop that's being aired these days.

Outta HS in '48; outta the navy in '52; outta Univ. of San Francisco in '57; outta Loyola Law School in '66 and happily retired since '86.

2004 / News reader possible?

Thanks Kelly. I don't know that any of these will allow me to respond to newsgroups but will check them out. I am hopeful of not having to add another expense to my growing list of computer must-haves.

2004 / News reader possible?
« on: February 03, 2004, 11:31:56 AM »
Is it possible to connect to a newsreader using MAIL as one's email application? I called roadrunner's helpline and they referred me to Apple (I referred myself to TS). I'm running Panther and have Safari 1.1 as my main browser with OmniWeb (4.5) and Explorer (5.2.3) for those very few occasions when a page won't load for me. RoadRunner has a news server but it will not connect to POP, .Mac, or Exchange which seem to be the only account options. Thanks for your help/æ

This is Nicodemus, aka "the little man". He's an Italian Greyhound and he's doing what he does best, lolling around with all of his little friends. If you like to meet people in strange places, take a greyhound, a whippet or an IG for a walk and you'll be asked lots of questions.

I was going to post a .jpg picture of my Italian Greyhound in a state of repose but couldn't do it; drag and drop didn't work and copy/paste didn't work either. Will someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Using OS X.2.8 on iBook 600

The good: a previously typed address is re-typed when a few letters are placed into the address box.

The bad: how do you get rid of the address when it becomes obsolete?

Last word to Krissel:
-I can't seem to make copypaste work with the OSX.2.6 version and didn't realize you're talking about a version for OS9.
-if it helps the thread, consider my time spent on this thing a joke.

Krissel: can you show a picture of what you're doing in CopyPaste, I can't see that option anywhere?
