Date+Time doen't show up on menu bar

Today, after booting up, I noticwed the date, Time, and Computer Name did not appear on my finder menu bar, as it has been lo these many moons. I opened Date/Time pref. panel and chose the appropriate options but nothing happened, After closing the panel, I reopened the panel and saw the The Sow time automaticall was unchecked and in the Clock panel, the Show Date & Time option plus show digital in menu bar were unchecked. I repeated the above procedures locking the Date/Time preference panel and still nothing worked.

After rseetting the options resetting several times stilld nothing happened. I then changed  the one option to analog clock in a Finder window and the clock showed up!

Also certain items that used to be on the Finder menu bar also disappeared such as WeatherPop, Bluetooth menu,  and Apple Scripts menu.

Yes, I ran DiskWarrior and that did not solve the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Aside from simply restarting to see if that corrects it, try removing to a different folder, the finder.plist

User/you/Library/Prefs/com.apple.finder.plist

Still no go? Move com.apple.systempreferences.plist  (same place)

Thanks for your suggestion. However, the problem was a program called WeatherPop which connects automatically to the Internet. For some reason it could connect, did not load and blocked other programs that were behind it in the load order. I simply manually restarted it and it and all the missing programs suddenly showed up.

I am confused as to what happened here. However what I did worked so I am not arguing!

If that continues to happen on startup you may want to remove it from your startup items list or change WeatherPop's preferences to that effect.

The newer versions of TinkerTool will allow you to change the order of your startup items. I had not thought of more than one reason to do that, but your problem could be another ( placing the miscreant at the end of the items ). Of course, the real problem is with that app...
