Future is right!  I can hardly wait.  Well, you have given me good advice, and confirmed what the best option is:  Return to 8.6 and hopefully my AVP will reappear to work as reliably as ever.

Now if I can just get the Performa open --

Thanks again & again & again & ... etcetera!

Hi Lorraine,

I recall having this same problem when I first upgraded to OS 9.1, but it was a long while ago and I am sorry, I can't remember the solution. I eventually moved on to ATI Rage 128VR PCI cards.  But, there is a solution.

I can't say this will work, but would your monitor resolution be to high for APV to work properly?  Do you run dual monitors and video cards?

No, I'm sure that's not it -- that was the answer to a previous problem I had.  But now the controls window has completely changed -- it only shows a movie projector instead of the 3 icons.  And there is no display window at all.

Sorry Lorraine for missing this post for 6 days.

But I see in another thread you got AVP back.

I know there was a fix for that, but can't remember what it was.  Sorry I was no help.

Aloha!

Thanks for your thoughts, Al.  If you discover what the fix was for keeping AVP alive in OS 9, let me know.  I've returned to 8.5 now, and it is working as of old.  Thanks again!
