Since we just completed the Christmas season and are entering the economic stimulus season, this one is apropos.

Christmas is a time when kids tell Santa what they want and adults pay for it. Deficits are when adults tell government what they want, and their kids pay for it.

My Dad's mother always used to say "Waste not, Want not"   and

"Fill your plate with as much as you want, but be sure to eat all you take."

And we never went for want at her house! Good religious people.

My Grandad never said a bad word about anybody, and was one of the most gentle and kindest person you ever met. I try to emulate him, but occasionally find myself slipping. nono.gif
