I've been wondering about the "very" strange behavior around Firefox and Flash and apparently they're concerned enough to issue a patch to Flash tomorrow:

If you feel you'd rather live without Flash, a search turned up this page on where to find the uninstaller.

Rather than uninstall, which prevents using some sites, simply use some kind of Flash blocker. I haven't had flash automatically run in well over two years. There are many apps/plugins/extensions/etc. to do that. And Flush makes it easy to erase the Flash cookies.
