Hide App Store purchases - Mojave
« on: June 05, 2019, 10:09:56 AM »
I recently downloaded a bunch (sorry for the use of technical term) of free apps from the App Store as seen in Mojave macOS 10.14. I was being asked to update some apps that I no longer use/want. I decided I could stop these notifications by "hiding" them, but I could not find a way to do that in the new App Store version.

Of course, the "Help" option, as usual, is out-of-date... :wallbash: But DDG was kind enough to point to a page at the Apple Support area describing the hidden "Hide" procedure. :cheer:
First, sign in (if your name is not showing at the bottom, left corner of the window). Then:
  • Click on your name
  • Hover your cursor over an app you would like to hide
  • Notice that a small, light-blue colored "more" icon is no displayed beside the "Open" (or download) button.
  • Click that icon.
  • You now have a menu of options you can perform, including "Hide purchase..."
Whether or not this will actually stop the Notifications remains to be seen...

DDG??? Anyway, I found it did not mean "Deutsche Dermatologische Gesellschaft (German Society of Dermatologists)", or "Dried Distillers Grain (cattle feed)", or "Drop Dead Gorgeous" (though we're sure Mrs XABD thinks so  :wink2: ).

Apart from those The Free Dictionary came up with - what else! - Duck Duck Go.

DuckDuckGo! The non-data collecting search engine. 👍

Well, DDG (even abbreviated) doesn’t exactly row off the tongue. :coolio: :p Nor has it become a verb yet.
