Have been running OS9.2 on a 400/G4 and recently loaded Jaguar in the fond hope that it would be superior. Oh dear! Have been trying to download iMovie3, which takes about 4 hours. I have an ISDN connection (can't get Broadband in our rural area), but the ISDN card I have won't work with Jaguar, so am forced to use the internal modem.
Problem: Whilst one could tell OS9.2 not to disconnect from the web, it seems there is no way of doing this in Jaguar. If there is, please someone tell me. I can't sit watching the monitor for four hours to clear the little window which appears every 1/2 hpour warning of an imminent shutdown.
After two days of messing about trying to download iMovie 3 in Jaguar, I decided to restart in OS9 and do it with that, using my ISDN line which I can keep on permanently. That worked. No trouble dowloading the installer, BUT on double-clicking the installer icon, got the dreaded message "Can't open as application that created it cannot be found". Had I been able to install iMovie3 in OS9, I intended to shift it to OSX, which is where I want it.
Any thoughts anybody?
