I suspect the term has a slightly different meaning to this group. Bottom line was who has the best bottom line! biggrin.gif I still have to laugh when I see/hear about 'innovation' from MS. But I guess Dell is innovative since they seem to continue to increase their market share with their commodity boxes. Their main innovation is figuring out how to make those boxes cheaper. But How has the price of the average Apple 'box' changed since the introduction of the PPC? Not much, I'll bet, but look at the improvement in what they can do!

Obviously, R & D didn't play a very big part in this survey, either.  eek2.gif

One thing I learned in all my years of teaching is that if you repeated something enough, regardless of its veracity, people will begin to believe it.

OK, I actually read through the 35 page report which has a lot of dry, slightly interesting and barely usable statistcs.

Bottom line, last page, the two companies responsible for this report are Cheskin and Fitch Wordwide, to wit:

QUOTE
Fitch:Worldwide designs new products and services, creates the environments in which they're sold, and packages and communicates them in their markets. The firm’s strategic design and ongoing brand stewardship have served clients such as Audi, Bausch & Lomb, Charles Schwab, Disney, HP, Lancome, LEGO, Maytag, HMSHost,  Microsoft, Nissan, Nokia, Procter & Gamble, Prudential, Saks Fifth Avenue, Starbucks, Swatch, 3M, Virgin and WHSmith.
