Okay. Genius at Apple solved the problem. By default, the Time Capsule uses 802.11 n. For some reason, two of my computers take offense at that. Once he had me switch to "g", as opposed to "n", everything worked like a charm. It may be an older, and slower technology, but even our 17" iMac wafted in and out of connections with "g".
